
The American Society of Law, Medicine & Ethics seeks a new Co-Editor-in-Chief for its flagship journal, The Journal of Law, Medicine & Ethics. The Co-Editor-in-Chief serves for three years, a term which will begin on January 1, 2010 and end on December 31, 2012.
The main duty of the Co-Editor-in-Chief of JLME is to conceive, plan, and help execute symposium issues of the journal. The Co-Editor-in-Chief will be instrumental in conceiving new topics for symposium issues, recruiting a Guest Editor for each symposium, and assist with the recruitment and review of authors for each symposium. The Co-Editor-in-Chief should plan to secure at least two symposiums per year for the journal. The Co-Editor-in-Chief of the journal will also play a critical role in the overall strategic planning for the journal, and will be expected to fulfill occasional day-to-day duties such as the review of unsolicited manuscripts.
Candidates for the Co-Editor-in-Chief position should have a notable record of scholarship in the fields of law, medicine, and/or ethics, and a commitment to central ideas of JLME, including a belief in the importance of multidisciplinary, accessible discourse.
