Ted Hutchinson
Publications Director and Editor
Ted Hutchinson has been the Publishing Director of the American Society of Law, Medicine & Ethics and the editor of The Journal of Law, Medicine & Ethics since 2003. In 2009, he was concurrently named Executive Director of the ASLME, and held both positions for fifteen years, until 2024. He has served as Editor of JLME for more than twenty years and has brought more than 120 issues of the journal to print. Mr. Hutchinson graduated with honors from Providence College and received a Master’s Degree in history from Tufts University. He taught American History for four years at Tufts and the University of Virginia, and has worked at the Massachusetts Historical Society and on the award-winning journal The New England Quarterly. Mr. Hutchinson also served as an Adjunct Professor of History at the New England College of Business and Finance for five years. In addition to his work with ASLME, he has served on the editorial boards of the Cambridge Dictionary of Bioethics and the journal Finest Hour. He has published more than thirty scholarly and popular articles, which have appeared in many publications.
