Are you looking for a journal that can host papers from your recent conference, or to publish a collection of articles on a topic from authors that you have hand-selected? The Journal of Law, Medicine & Ethics regularly publishes symposia and special issues curated by guest editors.
Our staff provides significant support throughout the process to ensure that your collection of articles is expertly edited and organized for optimal consumption by the target audience. Please inquire about our lower-than-industry-average publishing fees, which help with the extra cost of editing and also help us execute on our mission to be an authoritative source for information at the intersection of health, law, and bioethics. Guest editors often include these fees as part of a grant proposal. We have limited availability and tend to book special issues 1-2 years in advance.
Some examples of recent special issues and symposia include:
- Medical-Legal Partnerships: Equity, Evaluation, and Evolution
- Promoting Drug and Vaccine Innovation and Managing High Prices: Three Proposals for Policy Reform
- Emerging Portable Technology for Neuroimagng Research in New Field Settings: Legal & Ethical Challenges
- Defining Health Law for the Future: A Tribute to Professor Charity Scott
- Institutional Obligations to Promote Research Integrity
- Emerging Strategies to Stop Biological Time: The Ethical, Legal & Policy Challenges of Advanced Biopreservation
- 10 Years of Global Health Law
- Public Health, Markets, and Law
Guest editors are responsible for organization, outreach to authors, and managing the peer review process. JLME provides significant assistance from issue inception through final publication. We offer timelines from initial idea through publication, checklists, online tracking tools and peer review management tools, and frequent check-in calls to help you overcome any obstacles. Once your articles are ready for publication, we provide production management, copyediting, layout, and publishing.
