The Collapse of Care: Addressing Rural Access, Federal Funding, & the Future of New Mexico Healthcare

This year, in partnership with the Tribal Law Journal, the New Mexico Law Review is hosting an upcoming symposium, “The Collapse of Care: Addressing Rural Access, Federal Funding, & the Future of New Mexico Healthcare,” to be held on October 30, 2026, at the University of New Mexico School of Law.

Submissions are due August 1. For more detail visit the submission site.

This symposium will bring together practitioners, scholars, policymakers, and advocates to examine the evolving legal and structural challenges shaping healthcare delivery across New Mexico—particularly in rural and underserved communities. We are especially interested in proposals that engage with issues such as rural access to care, healthcare workforce shortages, federal and state funding mechanisms, tribal healthcare systems, private equity’s role in healthcare, and emerging regulatory or legislative responses.

The symposium will be held on October 30, 2026. Light breakfast, lunch, and a cocktail hour will be offered.

Register to attend the symposium here.
