ASLME Appoints New Executive Director

Katie Kenney Johnson

On behalf of the ASLME Board of Directors, I am thrilled to announce the appointment of Katie Johnson as our beloved organization’s new Executive Director, effective July 1, 2025.

Katie joined ASLME in 2002 as Conference Director and has led 22 annual Health Law Professors meetings since. Seeing her smiling face at the registration table is probably how many of you got to know Katie as a fixture of ASLME. In 2015, Katie took on the additional title of Membership Director, and in Spring 2024, Katie added a third title — Interim Executive Director. She has done a fantastic job leading ASLME through a time of transition and modernization, demonstrating the sort of energy, creativity, and passion needed for our organization to thrive and advance our enduring mission “to provide high-quality scholarship, debate, and critical thought for professionals at the intersection of law, medicine, and ethics.”

The Board of Directors looks forward to working closely with Katie to continue building ASLME in support of our members at this critical and challenging time for our field. We will soon embark on a strategic planning process and are always open to hearing your ideas for the future of our organization. Thank you for your support and please join us in congratulating Katie on her important new role! (Notes of warm wishes can be sent to kjohnson@aslme.org.)

Sincerely,

Holly Fernandez Lynch, JD, MBE
