The American University Washington College of Law Health Law and Policy Program, with the support of the AU Center on Health, Risk and Society, is pleased to host a one-day symposium, Health Law and Advancing Equitable Access to Care for Youth, on Friday, April 11th from 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM ET (in- person and virtually).
This symposium will bring together a diverse group of experts in law, medicine, public health, sociology, and more to address critical barriers to health care access for children and adolescents, featuring a keynote address from Representative Arvind Venkat, who serves as the State Representative for the 30th Legislative District of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. Expert panelists will examine a range of interconnected policy challenges to youth access to healthcare, including how social determinants and educational systems shape youth health outcomes, challenges and solutions for LGBTQ+ youth access to health care, the evolving landscape of reproductive health care for adolescents post-Dobbs, and improving access to youth mental health services.
Join us to discuss strategies for advancing equitable health care access and fostering resilience in young populations.
