Hybrid – Zoom and In Person at AUWCL

ASLME is pleased to partner with the American University Washington College of Law Health Law and Policy Program to present the next installment in the Future of Health Care Series, featuring scholar and practitioner perspectives on timely topics facing the health care industry. Join us in person or virtually on Thursday, November 13, from 12:00–1:30 PM ET for Preventing Stillbirth: Legal, Policy, and Public Health Perspectives. This panel will address the often-overlooked public health crisis of stillbirth, which affects approximately 1 in 170 births in the United States each year. Drawing on insights from law, health economics, and public health, distinguished experts will examine how legal frameworks shape prevention efforts, parental experiences, and broader debates about reproductive justice and rights.
The panel will be moderated by Thomas Wilson Williams, JD, MBE (American University Washington College of Law) and will feature:
- Jessica L. Cohen, PhD (Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health)
- Katherine J. Gold, MD, MSW, MS (University of Michigan Medical School)
- Jill Wieber Lens, JD (The University of Iowa College of Law).
This program is presented in partnership with the AUWCL Gender, Theory, Law & Practice Program and the American Health Law Association.
